28 Hours to Go

With 28 hours to go many have already put down their tarpaulins to save a space.

The tents are up for those keen to ensure their spot isn't nabbed in the night.

And a few groups look like they're settling in for the long haul.

All for this view of the fireworks over Sydney harbour tomorrow night.

We have a casual BBQ at our place and will either walk down to watch the fireworks or catch them from our upstairs windows.

Wherever you are, have a great night and an even greater start to the New Year!

I wouldn't have the commitment to sleep outdoors for some fireworks. I hope there are public toilets nearby!

Enjoy the fireworks and have a happy new year.

Camping? Sydney New Year's Eve involves camping? No thanks.

I'm sure it's fun the way you do it though.

Having had two New Years Eves down at The Rocks, I am envious of you Sydney-siders and your big fireworks.

Enjoy yourselves, and have a Divine 2009!

Camping and New Years Eve. I can't decide which I hate more. I shouldn't really say that given that I met Anthony at a NYE function.
My dislike of the evening is no way linked to that!

I'm an anti-NewYearsEve-r too, but I bet I would like it more if I could see the fireworks from my upstairs window! One year I may - may - abandon my NYE-grinchiness and take the kids to the family fireworks at 9.30pm. Happy New 2009 to you and your family though M. Lovely to have met you in 2008.

The same thing is happening here on our beachfront (The Bay has 3 sets of fireworks, one at 8, one at 9 and one at midnight) so the families camp for the 8 and 9 show, then go home, leaving the adults to take the spots for the 12 oclock show! Your plans sound relaxed and laid back - just perfect.

I like the sound of your plans but I am laughing along with the other comments here - glad I am not the only one who screws her nose up at NYE or at camping. I'm not a big fan of either!

Have a great 2009!

Wow - all these years, I thought I was the only NYE grinch - but no !

HNY, M .. enjoy your upstairs window and think of it when you next need tradies and there's no access .. perhaps you could invite them over to view fireworks for some contra action ? :p
