Thumbs optional

This morning I went into KelpieBlossom's room and noted, in my most calm and serene voice, that perhaps she should pick up all the clothes and other detritus that was strewn across the floor. She responded by looking at me in a manner similar to puss-in-boots above and said:
"But, Mum, that would be impossible for me to do - I am a very cute Kitty and I do not have disposable thumbs"
In my very mature way I then spent the rest of the morning saying things like "those with opposable thumbs can come with me, those with disposable thumbs better stay at home".

I would have let her skip the chore...just for coming up with such a clever and refreshing comeback. I'm not going to forget "disposable" thumbs anytime soon.

Disposable thumbs will come in very handy for young KelpieBlossom after she is strung up by the thumbs for failing to adequately tidy her room.

(Or is it just Chez Fairlie that this is a crime punishable by torture?)

Those eyes on Puss n Boots are ridiculously mesmerising aren't they ?

You and I both seem to be on the same warpath - my kids have failed though to come up with any speedy comebacks.

Disposable thumbs!! In our house we have "designated coconut".

That cat face is just too cute. I think he's my favourite character in Shrek.

Oh, and smaller son refers to "Sorrento" as "Risotto".

They are as elusive as disposable income...

My kids just manage to sputter: "but, but, but....."

Though J.T. did spring: "Why do I always have to do everything around here?"

He got a laundry list (literally and figuratively) of all the tasks that *I* do around here!

Mrs G: nope, can't let her skip that chore because I am a mean and uncompromising mother.

Fairlie: In our house you are threatened with being strung up by the ankles and hung in the garage...

Melinda: I'm afraid KB is a tween full of "witty" retorts. Funnily enough she is being encouraged to do public speaking at school. Heaven help her competition.
