Forget book piles. I think it's time to reveal ironing piles.
I bet no-one can beat mine.
I bet no-one can beat mine.
It's just plain depressing to look at it and it's too hot to do anything about it. Maybe if I go back downstairs it will go away...
PS ...and yes, for those who look very carefully you will see a tea towel or two. I love ironed tea towels. Sometimes it's the only thing I iron.

I love ironing tea-towels too...so satisfying to get a good result...everything else has tricky corners and seams and buttons.
You think it's hot in Sydney??? I'll see your maximum and raise you 11 degrees. We're seriously melting here.
Oh grasshopper, it's not the temperature that gets you in sydney, it's the humidity. And if the humidity doesn't get you, the moths do. :-p
It's a nice mild Fall temperature here. I'll pause while you have a little jealous huff.
I iron "as-needed" which isn't a problem unless someone has a last minute accident.... then I have nothing else ironed and ready to go. But ironing is my absolute least favorite chore and I can only do it in small bits and pieces.
my motto - just hang it all on coat-hangers (or fold it up) - by the time you need it the wrinkles have all fallen out ;)
(ok this doesn't work for shirts - so I just don't wear them)
My pile is looking pretty high at the moment, in fact the whole laundry is a shambles - but I'm very happy to be leaving a comment about ironing instead of actually doing it . . .
Melinda: Huff
Jo: that coat-hanger and folding trick works well. It also makes the ironing pile look smaller which is a good thing.
I can see the ironing pile from my desk and it is mocking me.
Imppressive!
Last night my husabnd said, as I went out. "i'll do the ironing tonight."
When I got home it was all sorted and piled on the back of the couch.... unironed.
Now my mega-ironing pile is in plain sight of all who enter... UNIRONED!!
ouch. Maybe the folding will do the trick?
I don't have an ironing pile because I don't iron.
Well occasionally I'll drag a shirt out and iron it but only if I absolutely have to.
Also I iron my husband a shirt on his birthday.
:)
For once I don't have an ironing pile. That doesn't happen too often these day's. My mother on the hand has an ironing CUPBOARD!! I can honestly say I have never seen her iron a thing ever.
It sounds as if I'm terribly old-fashioned by still ironing. I'm off to fold the ironing and see if it irons itself.
But wait. I also hate folding stuff.
My pile is as high as yours, but mine is made of dirty laundry. I am ashamed, yes I am. I just can't do anything rational these days. I wait and see, how my husband will react, when he gets home.
I'm good at folding clothes.
I'm just not good at putting them away.
I have just taken a photo of my washing basket full of clothes which has been waiting for at least 3 days to get folded. I like Pretty Essentials idea, lets just blog about our chores and not do them.
M your clothes always look neat, so I suppose you eventually get around to doing the ironing.
PS I will post my photo on my blog
I don't understand people with piles of ironing. Our wardrobes are so crushed, they only need to be re-ironed again later.
Soooo.. I bring them fresh and virtually unwrinkled from the line, and straight onto hangers and put away. No mess, no fuss, and we iron as we go.
I iron teatowels too :)
You iron? Impressive. i'm like H&B except i've lost my mojo recently so my clean laundry is going straight to the loungeroom floor to sit for a couple of weeks.
