Go See Sex and The City, but beware, it's dangerous for your wallet

I saw Sex and the City at a fundraiser last night, with 800 other forty-something lower north shore mums (a sight, believe me) . Despite not having been a regular watcher of the series (Firegazer watched it more than I did) I thought the movie was surprisingly excellent. It actually had a plot.

However I came out feeling that, really, I need a stylist, an on-call hairdresser and someone to carry my shopping bags. What's a girl to do?

Go shopping, of course.

You know, I really needed a pair of cowboy boots. I don't have anything to wear them with but I figure something will come along.

And a girl can't have too many black peep-toe wedges. Gosh, don't look too closely, it looks like this girl needs a new pedicure.

It helps that they were on sale. A bit.

Please don't tell Firegazer. I want to pretend they've been in my wardrobe for ages.

Love the boots! What would you rate the movie for a non sex in the city tv watcher?. Been reading mixed reports Very impressed that Firegazer went!

Hi S! First, Firegazer did not go to the movie. There was only one male in the audience and he was as camp as a row of tents.

Second, I'd give it a four out of five. Even the predictable bits were worth watching for the shoe and dress eye-candy.

Third, don't let any 12 year olds convince you they just must see it. WAY not suitable. WAY.

We have the same coloured toenails. I have never been brave enough to buy cowboy boots. But I covet them.

What? Like a Cobb & Co coach, a runaway herd of cattle or some mountain stallions?

(I do love the boots, I just don't have the stetson or the fringed jacket to wear with them either...)

You should wear those boots with EVERYTHING!

There are things in my wardrobe that truly HAVE been there for ages and Rob says: "Are those new?"

My best friend and I went. Creepily enough, there was one elderly couple in attendance a few rows in front of us. Which made me feel like my mother was in there with me. WAY not suitable for anyone in the under 18 crowd. I loved it though. Sheer girl fun.

I'm going next week with 2 girlfriends, so will have to see what damage I do to the credit card afterwards!

(Love both shoes - any excuse for more shoes will do!)

Shoe shopping is absolutely the perfect cure for whatever ails you. I did some yesterday and I, too, threw the goods in my wardrobe intending simply to trot out in them one day with no fuss, doing exactly the 'What? These old things?' act you describe.
Love those peep-toe wedges. Looking for some with sling-backs and maybe a lower wedge ...
