Sock 1

So, sock no. 1 is complete. Boy, that took a lot longer than I thought and my toe grafting was a little iffy. Actually, the grafting was a lot iffy but I couldn't work out how to unpick it.

These socks are intended for S from TeamSAK. S, I thought I'd let you know that these are for you because it may be a while before you see the full pair. And one sock may look a little more accomplished than the other. But hey, you get my very first attempt.

By the way, they are very comfy.

Isn't it the most amazing feeling when you try on the first sock and experience just how comfy they are? It almost makes up for the excruciating experience of knitting it in th fist place.

The second one will go much faster. You've done a great job.. better than me on mine. Good on you!

There I was thinking how lucky your friend was going to be to receive the first knitted socks you made and what a wonderful gesture it was. Never thought they for me! I have had a lot of bad luck the last 12 months but when it comes to friends I am truly blessed and have hit the jackpot! Thank you M.

Man. You are getting seriously good at this knitting caper.

I'm sure S will appreciate all the blood, sweat and tears that went into the grafting (as long as you wash it all out first).

Truly M that is a magnificent sock.

I am never ever going to attempt them. I know I will bugger them up.

I'd be so much more inclined to knit socks if we only had one leg. Know any one legged people? If you do and they want socks, I'm your gal.

Those look so soft and warm! Or should I say it? Can't wait to see the finished pair! S is fortunate to have such thoughtful friends!!

Thank you for all your lovely comments. So buoyed am I by your words I have started the second sock.

Apparently I was supposed to press the first sock - so I will also go off and do that. The heat will also sterilise the sock after I wore it for demonstration purposes - I'm sure S doesn't want my girl germs. Ewwww.

That is one good looking sock! I've always heard socks are super hard.

Gorgeous colour for a beautiful sock...it's enjoyable to watch others at work, very relaxing (almost like ironing)
