A couple of days after Christmas I went into the CBD to to buy some yarn to knit Padawan Learner a hot water bottle cover. I had just completed this cover for KelpieBlossom in one of her favourite colours and I wanted Padawan Learner to choose his own colour.
He picked his perennial favourite colour - bright yellow. Once picked he hugged his chosen yarn close to his chest and didn't let go until I paid for it. In fact he may have announced a couple of times (loudly, so that all other shoppers could hear) that he was going to use the yarn to knit himself a blanket.
Once home he decided I could use one or two balls of yarn to knit him a hot water bottle cover. And finally, here is the result. A little more adventurous than last time - a mock cable and a hand-made cord tie. The mock cable takes sooo much longer than the previous pattern but it is much cosier to hold.
I like the cord so much that I might make one for KelpieBlossom's cover as well.

I agree the cord looks lovely, the home made finishing touch. Well done M, especially 'deliberately' creating a hidden error just so it's not machine perfect - can't even see it!
Thanks for a lovely afternoon/evening. Master A was allowed to stay up to 8.30 with the promise that he was going to repeat his sleep in of this morning. You may be wondering why I am posting at 2.30 in the morning - a neighbour arriving home and having a barney outside my bedroom window is to blame - arrgghhh!
These are delightful. They make me feel better and I don't even have a tummy ache.
These are fantastic M.
We discovered the power of the hot water bottle in Mudgee and I will be buying them for winter - now to find covers of my own - cause I sure won't be knitting them!
So. How are you?
Knitting mock cable? It's almost time for a tough love intervention.
Love the cord! It is lovely. Padawan made a great choice!
Great work. Especially that cord. And I'm thinking you'll never lose his hottie with that lovely bright coloured cover!
But I'm glad I didn't see the two shots of hot water bottles yesterday as I roasted slowly to death in my horrid house. It might have finished me off.
Hey really the interesting product. You can also visit here for koozies.
