Kaftan Days

School's back and it's Kaftan weather. Having spent two weeks in WA where the temperatures are searing but the heat is dry and the sea breeze comes in at night I am having trouble re-acclimatising to Sydney's humidity. I'm longing for a long breezy Kaftan, 1970s style.

Look at Marble, she's a Sydney-born cat and she's having trouble.

This afternoon I will collect the kids from school and hear what classes they've been assigned to, who their teachers are and whether they have any of their friends in their class. Then we will zoom off to the pool and pretend it's still the holidays.

Kaftans? Just go get yourself one. Better still - whip up one on the Singer. Haven't you gone all crafty now? Or is that mid-life crisis over?

Crafty? Crafty? Don't be confusing me with anyone that is Crafty. I may have just this minute finished knitting a beanie (black, for a certain nephew who is about to turn 7 and asked for a black beanie with a skull and crossbones onit...) but I am not crafty.

And, no, my pre-mid-life crisis is not over.

What a plan! Go ebay yourself a kaftan. If you don't mind wearing used clothing.

Muggy in Melb. We had some rare showers this morning on the parched, hot earth, so now it's steamy.

How old is Marble ? I'm noting the 'old age' tummy pouch kittycats always seem to get in the twilight years.. :)

Can't help with the Kaftan or making one ( the Janome is on a holiday) but can offer a sarong and sarong clip! Hope all is well and the kids had a great day at school in their new classes. School doesn't start for us 'til 5 Feb !
