On the last Saturday of our trip we have Family Ski Day where all the kids show us that they are better skiers than us, and most importantly, build the annual snowman.
This year was a slight departure from tradition as the theme was "Forts". The boys found an excellent rock/cave from which to stockpile snowballs and the girls made their own snow forts.
The boys then started a snowball fight but as KelpieBlossom pointed out that as the Geneva Convention and International Snowball Fighting Rules were not being adhered to we would have to abandon the battle and retire to the Merrits Mountain Hutte for lunch.
After lunch it snowed beautiful large snowflakes that we could catch in our hands.

it's so good to have you back and to hear of your adventures. Would it be boring for everyone if you posted advice on how to organise a family skiing holiday - given you are so practised? I may have said we are keen to take the kids next year but we have no idea really what to do where to go etc...
Hi Mary, just for you I will plan a post on family ski holidays. This was our seventh family ski adventure so I'll think of all the things that have worked for us over the years (and a few of the things that haven't worked as well).
A week of skiing! Lucky you.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. :)

I was trying to work out what our mothers did when there were no computers - and I reckon they were on the telephone for hours - I can remember my mother doing that!
Looks great, can't wait to see the rest of the piccies (is this spelling acceptable?) and stories.
