When Firegazer returned early this morning after a few days away on business I said how lovely it was to have him home.
However I mentioned that ...
I will miss being able to leave the doors open and the blinds up at night so I can welcome the sun as it rises.
And I will miss being able to leave my bedside light on as long as I please and read for as long as I like. In my bed.
Such is life when living with a modern caveman. He just doesn't like morning sunlight and late night reading the way I do.
Luckily he has other redeeming qualities. :-)
What can you get away with when the other half is away?

I'm sure that there are so many more benefits to having him home. (maybe as a treat he'll let you turn your light on and read one night...)
Mine is the late-nite reading... and sleeping smack in the middle of the bed!
ohhh my man is your man ... until I moved in with MIC I was always a curtains open girl ... now no.
And I am a love to read in bed girl - most often I get asked 'how much longer ...'
I thought the curtains was a cold weather thing from being raised in the South of NZ - apparently not !!
As to get away with ... hmmmm skys the limit - curtains open, light on, chocie in bed, calls to mum that go on and on, bloging into the wee hours....
Actually it is usually me that travels with work - or did - so add room service dessert to that list :) le xoxo
The late night reading is good, but I find I don't sleep as well when he's not there. I just feel safer.
However, in winter it is nice to just have the heater on without someone walking into the room, blowing noisily and saying "do you really need that on?" Why yes, I do, it just so happens I'm a snake
I'm a bit of a scardy-cat and like him home - not that he would be that much help as he sleeps through electrical storms, possums stomping on the roof etc. He once slept through a plane take-off (while he was on said plane!)
When sans husband, I get away with the following:
(a) eating chocolate in bed at 7.00pm.
(b) watching Sex & The City Re-runs
The cat gets away with
(a) sleeping on the bed
