Precious Boy

I have one child who has always been very conscientious (takes after her dad) and one child who has always been, well, a bit more of a free spirit, perhaps a little less conscientious, never does his homework.

So this morning when this child - completely of his own volition - made his own bed (even stacked his teddies neatly), tidied his room ("so it's clean for Grandma and Grandpa to see") and wrote out 25 Christmas cards for his class-mates (again, I stress voluntarily, actually asked me if he could do it) my little heart went awwwwwww....

That's so gorgeous! I'm still waiting for my one, who's head is always in the clouds, to make his bed without his sister telling him to!

But, I do envy his daydreaming lifestyle just a little every now and again.

Awwwwwww-indeed!

If he keeps this behaviour up he may just shape-up as an acceptable suitor for The Impossible Princess!

(and perhaps, he could give her a few lessons in bed-making and room-tidying too...)

oh. Can I borrow him? I have two urchins who need lessons in tidying.

I don't want to be a party pooper.... but could he possibly think his Christmas loot is in danger if he isn't on his best behavior?

I'm just wondering..... because that isn't working at our house this year.

Oh Melinda, I think you are absolutely correct. Definitely the "Santa Factor". But the thing is, I haven't threatened to call Santa yet...

Pretty Essential: Padawan Learner is a daydreamer too. I often think that the world he dreams in must be pretty cool because he's there a lot!

Fairlie: Well, now, see if The IP was baptised in a Christian ceremony she would be *technically* PL's sister ...

It's these kinds of mornings that make the rest of them do-able. What a gentleman. Let's hope it holds.

You know he's just trying to get a few good points on Santa's "nice" list don't you? But he deserves double for all those cards.

I think to use a phrase along the lines of what I have seen from Fairle to M quite often recently
'is PL alright?'
