Garage Sale

Yesterday.

A letterbox drop was done. An ad went online. Signs and balloons were put out at 6.30am.

Three families. Two garages. One street.

We all sat here for six hours, chatted to loads of people. And did quite well really. No-one even haggled. A surprisingly relaxing way to spend a Sunday.

We now have far less clutter and $365 to put in our "bikes for Christmas" fund.

Really no haggling?
Wow. You must have a better class of garage sale shoppers in your parts.

Good on you - cash and less clutter - that's got to be win win.

Sounds like it went well. Holding a garage sale is my idea of hell, but your sounds like a social outing. :)

Did you get an early callers - you know, tapping on your bedroom window at 5.00am, shouting out, "Do you have any jewellery or watches?"

What? You didn't? Stacey is right...completely different class of garage sale shoppers in the LNS.

No early callers. Our online ad said "Early callers will be charged double".

One older guy came at 7.45am and said "I hope I'm not too early, but do you have any old radios?".

Even Firegazer, who was not at all keen on the whole idea, thought it was a good day out. Goes to show how insubstantial our social life is!

Well done, a tidy sum for you.

And you really did hold it IN A GARAGE. We say Garage Sale in my neck of the woods but we really mean front yard sale.

I'm so un-economic. I just gave our crap to the school fete. It's good to be rid of it though, even though we are no richer.

I too an impressed with your industrious nature and the fact that it was a true garage sale! What classy buyers too. We always have the early ones that come while you are still setting stuff out and want to argue over prices.
