Free Fun in Sydney (even for north shore dwellers...)

The school holidays are notorious for putting a hole in the budget; but this week when Domestic Goddess and her three kids visited from Melbourne we had a great time without the need for a second mortgage.

We played in the tunnels at Middle Head.

We walked across Our Bridge.

We hung out for ages at the new Apple Store playing with all the gadgets we'd love to own. That place is a theme park in its own right.

And we played in the harbour at low tide.

Who needs a theme park when we live in one?

That has actually made me think that moving back to Sydney will not be such a bad thing!

Looks like you all had a lovely time. I want to show the boys Sydney at some stage. I've never forgotten my first sight of the bridge and the opera house. So beautiful.

That low tide picture is divine. What a gorgeous day for playing... especially when you live in a theme park!

Fantastic pic of the Apple store!

Free fun is good fun.

Sounds like wonderful holiday activities. All for these types of low cost but high fun activities for keeping kids grounded. Kingsley had fun attending free local council craft activities at the library, museums, having cooking playdates with friends and spending time at the park. Must say the Apple store visit was a master stroke of good thought. Fairlie will need to see if there is one here for our girls!

Well you definitaley did better than us, yesterday I took 3 kids to the movies and that set me back about $50 and today Major Dad and I took 3 kids to Cockington Green and then had a small lunch and the kids also had an ice cream - $110 later we had also had a lovely time - but of course ours came at a financial cost. Although I must say there are plenty of free fun things to do here in Canberra, we had just chosen to do two costly things in a row and with the addition of an extra child.
