Socks

A good friend of mine has just started a course of IV Chemotherapy. Her other friends and family are nearby and can be useful by cooking meals and helping with the detritus of daily life. I'm in another State feeling a bit useless so I thought I'd knit her a pair of house socks. The yarn is Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. Not hard-wearing enough for shoes but lovely for padding around the house.

They're the first pair I've ever knitted so I hope she'll understand if they don't look exactly like the picture.

Oh, and all you expert sock-knitters out there - stand-by for panicked calls for assistance.

You are such a thoughtful friend. What would we all do without you? Go cold I suppose. All my fingers and toes are crossed for your friends recovery.

You've started! Good for you!

I've finished one pair, and before I knew what I was doing I ordered 3 more skeins from England to do it all again. So beware. You may become addicted.

Hope they are a comfort for your friend when she's feeling icky. Best wishes for her recovery.

Wow, its a good friend that knits socks for someone.
Socks would be so much more fun if we only had one foot. I always finish one and then think, what, I've got to do another one??

people who knit socks do seem to get addicted to them.

A scarf is the limit of my knitting and I don't even finish them!

I couldn't knit anything: hot pad, sock, scarf..... nothing. So I'm quite impressed with your needle talent. And I'm sure your friend will be grateful for your talent as well. A good, soft pair of socks can be just the thing when your feeling low. I have a favorite pair for cool mornings around the house.

Socks from DB cashmerino are a treat indeed.

Hope they're progressing well.
