This was a day and a half. I had just learned that a friend had died, it was Dad's birthday and I hadn't finished his gift, and Blossom had her ballet exam.
Blossom took the day off school, we went to the markets in the morning and in the afternoon we headed up to the ballet school to get ready.
Blossom took the day off school, we went to the markets in the morning and in the afternoon we headed up to the ballet school to get ready.
The ribbon was attached.
(this differentiates her from the pink girl, or the white girl, or the yellow girl)
The shoe ribbons were tied. And re-tied. And then checked again.
She was ready to go in.
Blossom said the examiner was friendly but she wasn't sure it was her best exam.
Despite all the hairspray on the shoe ribbons, they still came loose.
But that's all part of being a dancer and the show must go on.
Now we are all about the end of year concert. And Grade 5 next year.

gosh that brings back memories! Good luck with the results!
She looks beautiful. Keira has her exam next week (She's the pink girl).
Oh ballet exams! I don't think the dance teacher goes that far up here. I was quite pleased when #3 daughter decided she didn't want to do dance anymore this year.
I hope she gets great results. And Mum deserves top marks for holding it all together.
What gorgeous ballet hair! I'd be a bundle of nerves if I had to take an exam on my dancing ability. I'm certain their would be lots of laughing.
Aren't you a great Mum, helping her keep it together with all your stuff going on.
I remember the exam day well ... I never minded the exam it was the getting of the results that always made me nervous !
crossing fingers for a great outcome - is she an RAD girl or one of the other strands ... either way she looked every bit the dancer :)
my friend's daughter did the call last month for the student develeopment program for the aust ballet school - she is nine and accepted in - mummy was a dance - mummy is the boss I just left - does that tell you anything ...
reading stomper girls comments - I hope whatever your stuff is is ok too ... le xox
Oh, nice ballet hair! I'm glad not to have to do any this year. I think musical theatre hair is a little more forgiving.
Looking forward to hearing how Blossom went.
you should win aprize for that bun
Goodness - I had that sinking feeling in my stomach reading that post - the one that I get when I remember the whole hair/tights/ballet shoes/scary ballet teacher thing.
Stay calm Alice it is all over. That was all finished Four Years Ago.
