Fairlie the White Rabbit Circa 1987

Gosh, it's not even Flashback Friday.

This is the photo I had intended for Fairlie's birthday blog post but hadn't sought permission. Given that a girl should be allowed to try and forget some aspects of her wild university days I thought it prudent to at least ASK.

Anyway, Fairlie has relented and has allowed the publication of this photo of her ready for the 1987 Opening of the Croquet Season at our university college in Perth.

Yes, we had such a thing. We also had regular "pondings" and other very Oxbridge-type rituals at our residential college. All fun and no study as far as I can remember. It was the time when a university education was free and we could repeat a year if need be. Aaaah, the olden days...

Edited: BTW this is my 150th post.

Love it!

Fairlie even had the forethought to not show her full face so you could publish this on a blog 20 years later. Clever girl.

Geez. Most university girls would be putting on the Playboy bunny outfit, not the Alice in Wonderland one. Go Fairlie. You're so literate.

Oh yes...that's me...the wild (literate) university bunny!

And yes, those were the days, when education was free. I can't imagine many students nowadays chose subjects just 'cause they like the sound of them...not when you're paying so much moula for each one.

I just now hope and pray that Fairlie doesn't have any compromising snaps of moi. Not that she would, good hard-studying girl that I was.

P.S. - Because I went O/S for a year after High School, I was the first intake of PAY-FOR-IT-UNTIL-YOU-TURN-30 University edumacation :(

Happy 150th !

Let me just add...the scary blowfly sunnies WERE NOT mine...they were Firegazer's...and I put them on just for the photo.

I think at the time my own sunglasses were Jonathon Skeats white plastic framed ones...or perhaps royal blue Bolles?

And, M...be scared...be very scared...I have quite a stash of photos...

Yes - that reminds me that I just missed out on the free degree myself.

Did we all look so young first year of uni - it all seems (and probably is!) so long ago.....

I think I had Jonathon Sceats white sunnies too!

And yes, not only were they Firegazer's sunnies but Fairlie is sitting on Firegazer's orginal (would now be vintage) 1985 Jenny Kee Doona cover!

Matches the curtains in his room well don't you think...
